Chocolate gingerbread cake

Ingredients 12 servings:
2 1/2 cups flour
1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 tbsp McCormick® ginger powder
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon McCormick® ground cinnamon
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, softened
1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1 cup molasses
1 egg
1 cup boiling water
Practice steps:
1. Preheat the oven to 350°F. In a medium bowl, combine flour, cocoa powder, ginger, baking powder, baking soda, and cinnamon. Set aside.
2. Put the butter, sugar and molasses in a large bowl and beat with an electric whisk at medium speed until well mixed. Stir in the eggs. Alternately add the flour mixture and water, stirring until combined. Pour into a greased 9-inch square baking pan.
3. Bake for 40 minutes or until the toothpick inserted in the center becomes clean. Cool in a pan on a metal rack for 10 minutes. Pour the cake on a metal rack and let it cool completely.
