How to make this chicken fajita salad?(2)

Air Fried Chicken Fajita Salad

Slice the chicken: Take out the chicken and let it sit for 10 minutes to keep it moist. After 10 minutes, cut the chicken into long strips. Put it on the salad.

Put the salad on top: add sour cream in the middle, if you like spicy, you can sprinkle chili flakes on the salad. Squeeze the fresh lime juice onto the salad and eat immediately.

The secret of success:

I know that making a salad is a very simple task, but here are some quick air fryer/assembly tips to help you get the best results:

How to judge whether chicken is cooked: It is best to use a meat thermometer to check the chicken, because chicken of different thicknesses will be cooked. You want the chicken to reach an internal temperature of 165°F. For a delicious fat chicken breast, it takes about 25 minutes in total in the air fryer. The thinner pieces will take about 17 to 20 minutes.

Rest your chicken: Letting the cooked chicken rest before slicing will give it time to cool down, but more importantly, allow the juices to re-absorb into the meat. This will ensure that the chicken remains moist and soft!

Add lime juice after the chicken is cooked: The lime juice in the marinade will provide a good taste, but in order to get the strongest effect, you can also squeeze some lime juice on the salad after the chicken is cooked.

Don't overcrowd the air fryer: if the chicken pieces are stacked on top of each other, they won't cook so evenly, and they won't get so good burnt. I used a large basket air fryer with enough space for 3 breasts (1 pound of chicken).

Chicken substitutes: If you are a fan of steak fajitas, you can definitely replace chicken with beef! We often do this to switch it!

First-class ideas + suggestions

When it comes to the ingredients in this salad, the possibilities are endless. Here are a few of my favorites:

Sour cream: The Pico de gallo and salsa on this salad are always delicious!

Extra vegetables: corn, diced tomatoes, jalapeno and/or avocado.

Cheese: This is a good salad, you can use crumbled Mexican Cotija cheese. You can also use your favorite shredded Mexican mixed cheese.

Rice: If you want to make a fajita bowl instead of a salad, replace the lettuce with white rice or brown rice!

How to store leftovers:

If you are making this salad, it is best to make only what you will eat. Once topped with all the hot chicken, vegetables and toppings, this kind of salad won't help.

However, if you need to store this salad, don't mix everything together. Put the lettuce, chicken, vegetables, and any ingredients in a separate container and keep it in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. Reheat the chicken and vegetables in an air fryer or microwave to mix the salad in just a few minutes!

Meal preparation salad:

I often prepare this salad for lunch on weekdays and have found the perfect way! Follow these simple instructions on how to easily prepare this chicken fajita salad:

Step 1: Air-fry the chicken and vegetables according to the recipe. Cool, then store in four separate containers.

Step 2: Prepare the lettuce and store it in 4 separate containers. Do the same with your ingredients: salsa, lime wedges, guacamole/guacamole, sour cream, etc. Will not turn yellow and stay fresh.

Step 3: When ready to serve, reheat the chicken and vegetables in an air fryer or microwave. Put the chicken on the lettuce and pair it with selected toppings!

I have been making this simple air fried chicken fajita salad for lunch for several months. I prepare it on Sunday afternoon and eat lunch throughout the week (prepare the meal according to the instructions above!). It is full, but still healthy, and absolutely full of flavor!
